Four graduating seniors and members of Minisink Valley’s varsity softball team were officially recognized along with their families and coaches on ThurSday, May 10.

CONGRATULATIONS to Minisink’s Class of 2018 softball players for their hard work, commitment and dedication to the sport, and to their school's softball program:

Aubrey Ketcham is in her fourth season as member of the varsity team. After two years at second base, she moved to shortstop in her junior and senior years. Aubrey was selected as a captain by her teammates and is an outstanding leader and role model. She plans to continue her softball career and will attend Herkimer Community College to study criminal justice.

Elizabeth Lachenal is in her second year of varsity competition and she continues to improve every day. She is known for her work ethic, team spirit, and readiness to lend a hand. In the fall, Liz will attend Misericordia University to study occupational therapy.

Alayna Savaglio is in her fourth year of varsity competition and was also selected as a captain by her teammates. With a rare combination of talent and humility, Alayna will be remembered as one of the best pitchers and hitters in the history of the Minisink Valley softball. She will continue her softball career playing Division II for Flagler College in St. Augustine, Florida, on a full athletic scholarship, and pursue a degree in elementary education.

Sarah Woodruff is a two-year varsity player who has seen time as both pitcher and designated hitter. She is an extremely committed and unselfish player who always puts her team first. Sarah will continue her softball career playing Division III at Pennsylvania College of Technology where she will study radiography.
