HIGH SCHOOL'S CHOIRS WIN BIG AT MUSIC IN THE PARKS FESTIVAL AT DORNEY PARK


The Minisink Valley High School choirs all won first place honors with additional accolades at the Music in the Parks Festival at Dorney Park in Allentown, Pennsylvania on May 11.

 

Each choir performed three selections for the adjudicators. In addition to their first place wins, each choir received a rating from the judges:

 

Mixed Choir: First place, excellent rating

Men's Ensemble: First place, Superior rating

Women's Choir: First place, Superior rating

Chamber Choir: First place, Superior rating 

 

Additionally, the Chamber Choir was earned the “Best Overall Choir award; and Sydney DuPlessis of the Mixed Choir was awarded the "Outstanding Vocal Soloist" medal.

 

The choirs also received the "Esprit de Corps" award.


"This is a highly coveted award, and is given to the school who displays an exemplary attitude of positive support and outstanding personal behavior throughout the festival," said choir director Danielle Cornacchio.

The award recognizes a desire for excellence, personal integrity, quality character values, and a spirit of cooperation. 

 

“We are so proud that our Minisink Valley choir students represented our district in this amazing way,” Ms. Cornacchio added.
