Minisink Valley Athletics

Minisink Valley has a long and proud tradition of athletic participation and excellence thanks to our engaged students, strong community support, committed and dedicated teachers, coaches, support personnel, administrators, and our Board of Education. Our teams have captured numerous Orange County League and Section IX titles. We have also achieved several state championships and frequent state rankings. Not least of all, we are very proud of having received numerous team-sportsmanship and scholar-athlete team awards. We encourage all students to take part in our athletic programs to enrich their experience at Minisink Valley! Go Warriors!

CLASS OF 2019 GIRLS VARSITY BASKETBALL ATHLETES RECOGNIZED

Three graduating seniors and members of Minisink Valley’s varsity basketball team were officially recognized along with their families and coaches on Thursday, February 14.

CONGRATULATIONS TO MV GIRLS WRESTLING CHAMPS

CONGRATULATIONS Sofia Macaluso and Mia Macaluso (a.k.a., Macaluso Sisters) on clinching the New York State girls wrestling title!

 

With coach Gallagher in their corner, they continue to blaze a path to Section 9 and state girls wrestling. They competed at the girls Folkstyle State Invitational on Saturday, Feb. 15, at Harry S. Truman High School in New York.

MV'S BOYS SWIMMING-DIVING TEAM IS OFF TO STATE MEET

The boys swimming and diving team rocked the pool during Sections on Saturday, Feb. 16, at Valley Central. The 400-free relay team of JJ Henriques, Nate Mason, Owen Colfax and Ryan Pietraszka captured the gold in the final event of the evening and punched their ticket to the state's meet next weekend. Other qualifiers include Jack Bellettiere, Louis Barbone and Kyle Harrison

CONGRATULATIONS ATHLETES OF THE WEEK: VICTORIA BURGER AND RYAN PIETRASZKA

Victoria Burger – Senior Indoor – Track: Victoria has taken a leadership role in Minisink Valley’s indoor track program this season, setting personal records in the 800, 1000, and 1500-meter, and 1-mile races. She has also been the anchor for the 4x800 relay team. Victoria’s contributions to her school’s athletics programs extend to cross country and lacrosse. A member of the National Honor Society, she has been named to the high honor roll throughout her high school career.

Ryan Pietraszka – Senior – Boys Swimming: Ryan captured the gold medal in two recent events leading the Warriors to a first-place finish at the OCIAA Division 2 championship meet on Friday, Feb. 1. Ryan has been one of the top swimmers in the section throughout his career at Minisink Valley and will be sorely missed next year.

ONLINE REGISTRATION IS OPEN NOW FOR SPRING HIGH SCHOOL SPORTS

High school students and parents: Online registration for spring sports is now open through Monday, March 4. Sports include baseball, softball, lacrosse, boys' tennis, golf and track & field.

REGISTRATION PROCESS: Log into FamilyID to complete registration forms. If you have previously completed the “Intent to Participate” online form, simply log in to complete the process. For additional registration information, including physical exam, go to the 2019 Spring Registration section of the Athletics page

Practice and tryouts begin Monday, March 4, afterschool. Registration for modified sports (grades 7-8) will take place Monday, Feb. 11 - Monday, Mar. 11.

VARSITY WRESTLING TEAM RANKED THIRD BEST TEAM IN NEW YORK STATE FOLLOWING DUAL MEET CHAMPIONSHIP!
